The basics

Is Credit for Startups free?

Yes — browsing the directory and reading our guides is completely free. You don't need an account.

Do you actually issue the credits?

No. We're an editorial directory. Each credit, perk, or grant is offered by the company or organization that runs the program — AWS, Anthropic, Stripe, Y Combinator, the SBA, and so on. You apply directly with them.

Why doesn't every credit on the site apply to my startup?

Most programs have eligibility rules — incorporation type, stage, revenue, investors, geography, or industry. We surface what we can in the "difficulty" indicator on each listing, but the official program page is always the source of truth.

Applying

How do I apply?

Click through to the partner's page from the listing — every program runs its own application. We don't gate or intermediate access.

Will applying through Credit for Startups improve my odds?

In a few cases yes — partners give priority review to applicants who come through us. When that's true, we say so on the listing. Otherwise, going direct vs. through us makes no difference to approval.

Why did my application get rejected?

We don't see application data, so we can't tell you specifically. Common reasons: missing investor backing, wrong incorporation type, prior use of the same program, or revenue above the program's threshold. Each partner has a contact for application questions.

The directory

How often is the directory updated?

We review listings on a rolling basis and watch for program changes. If you spot something stale, email us — we'll fix it fast.

How do you decide what to list?

We list programs that (a) offer real, advertised value to startups, (b) have a clear application path, and (c) we can verify against the partner's official materials. We don't accept "pay for placement" listings.
